Membership
The membership of the Association of Development Communication (ADC) is open to any person who is participating in Social and Development Communication – teaching or practicing in an official capacity as a member of any apex body, NGO, CBO etc., and in promotion of Development Communication, Social and Behavioral Change, Communication enterprises, knowledge and scholarship, subject to the approval of the Executive Committee.
The students who are undergoing Post-Graduate training in Communication, Mass Communication, Media, Journalism, Development Communication, Marketing Communication, Health Communication, Climate Change Communication, and related subjects shall have provisional membership as potential aspirants to the communication profession.
There are Four types of ADC memberships:
Student Annual Membership

Other than the above, ADC has Founder Life Members category wherein the signatories to the Memorandum of Association for ADC are accommodated. They are required to pay 50 percent of the stipulated Life membership fee as a one-time fee.
Note:
- The Life Members and Institutional members are required to renew their membership every ten years after the first enrollment by remittance of 50 percent of the Life/Institutional Membership Fee prevailing during the said period. Else, s/he/institution would cease to be a Life/Institutional Member of ADC.
- The Association shall place the request for membership from time to time, maybe by circulation, to its Executive Committee who may approve or disapprove the application. If not approved, the applicant would be communicated in writing with the reasons assigned.

Who can become a Life Member?
All major individuals who have attained the age of 25 years and who fulfill the terms and conditions of the ADC may apply through the on-line/off-line enrolment filling on the prescribed form to become a member of ADC. The Association may enroll such a person on payment of stipulated admission fee, which may be fixed by the Executive Committee from time to time, depending on the rising expectations, exigencies, and needs of ADC.
Who can become an Annual Member?
Any professional associated with the above-mentioned pursuit may become an annual ADC member by properly applying to the Association, after paying the prescribed fee.
Who can become a Student Member?
The Executive Committee may enroll the ‘students’ who are pursuing Post Graduation/any other higher-level degree in communication related courses from any recognized University in India or abroad, and interested professionals in a related field as students members of ADC.
Once they obtain their Post-Graduate/higher-level degree, they will be entitled to apply for the Annual/Life Membership by applying afresh and paying the prescribed fee.
What is an Institutional Membership?
All Indian/International educational institutions, organizations, government agencies, nonprofit and for-profit organizations, and research organizations that contribute towards the advancement of the Development Communication field are eligible to apply for institutional membership. ADC may enroll such an institution/organization on payment of stipulated admission fee, which may be fixed by the Executive Committee from time to time, depending on the rising expectations, and needs of ADC.
Under what circumstances the membership can be ceased?
A person shall cease to be a member of ADC by resignation, death, disqualification, insolvency or liquidation. A member shall be deemed to have become disqualified if in the view of the other members, expressed their complaints by a resolution of the majority of the total number of the members, or s/he is of unsound mind, or has worked against the aims and objects of the Association or has committed an act, which makes it undesirable to have her/him as a member or his membership cessation is in the interest of the society.
Under what circumstances the membership request is refused?
The Executive Committee of ADC may refuse any person the membership without assigning any reason. The decision of the Committee of ADC shall be final.
